** increase ICP is tolerated in children by enlarging head
Manifestations:
increase pitch cry, weakness, enlargement of head
** undergo myelogram (lumbar puncture) L3-L4/L4-L5
-insert dye, apirate 5cc CSF
common dye: position after
air- trendelenburg
water - flat on bed - 6hrs
oil - head elevated 15-30 degress 4-6hrs

-common in female, perfectionist, ambitious, inflexible
- pain start from one hemisphere to other hemisphere 5-10mins only;
severe - last for hours, days or weeks
-severe throbbing pain
Nursing Priority: pain, cause of pain, stop activity, administer analgesics, bring to quiet dark environment
MGT: decrease stimuli = decrease ICP
